Strong FDI Growth in 2021

The UNCTAD Investment Trends Monitor reports a 77% increase in foreign direct investment from 2020 to 2021. In actual numbers, FDI grew from US$ 929 Billion in 2020 to US$ 1.65 Trillion in 2021, surpassing the pre-pandemic level. The biggest beneficiaries, however, were the developed economies of Western Europe and North America. FDI flows into developing economies increased "only" by 30%. For the full report click here.
